There is power in
knowledge and it is what the wealthiest and the highly successful people know
that makes them what they are and it is what you know that makes you what you
are (no pan intended). Wealth and success are probably the most elusive things
for majority of people across the world and oddly, they are what every
individual seeks every time they wake up in the morning and what they dream
about when they go to bed. Wealth and success define who is who in the society
and dictates what you do where you live, who you interact with and even who you
are as a person. To ensure you become wealthy and successful and to realize
your best potential on this world, you need to know what the wealthiest and the
highly successful folks in the society know that you don’t. What do these folks
know that you don’t?
1. Investing in Self Improvement
Initiatives
Majority of people who
have not yet achieved wealth and success are so wrapped up in finding ways they
can make more money they forget the basics to achieving wealth and success,
which is to invest in self -improvement initiatives. Wealthy and successful
people know that to be what they are and to better themselves, they need to
continually pursue to self-improve. This is achieved by spending a portion of
their time each day doing things that not only enrich their careers but also,
generates spiritual, social, emotional, physical and psychological growth,
which sets them apart from the rest (the less than wealthy and unsuccessful
folks).
They do not stop there,
they go a step further to pass this self- improvement knowledge and insights to
their children, making them engage in self- improvement initiatives such as
reading several books every month, which are not school-related. This is
because they know that to ensure wealth and success remains in the family, the
children need to know what the parents know. While your child is busy playing
video games, a child from a wealthy and successful parent is busy reading
Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad book.
2. Living Below Their Means
The wealthiest and the
highly successful people know that wealth and success is not a direct outcome
of their paycheck and it is not determined by the amount of salary they get
every month. They know wealth and success comes from learning how to save, which
can only be achieved by living below their means. No matter how little you
save, savings are the key to growing and preserving wealth. Just because you
can afford something does not mean you need to purchase it. It is not rocket
science that most poor people are unable to grow wealth because they live on a
hand to mouth basis. The wealthy and the highly successful know that the more they
save, the more wealthy and successful they become. Start saving!
3. Bounce Back!
Success is defined as
the ability to rise up whenever you fall. Most of the world renown wealthy and
highly successful people know that their success and wealth depends on their
ability to bounce back when they fall. Donald Trump is an American mogul who
was able to bounce back in the early 1990s following amassing debt that brought
his business to bankruptcy. Fighting against all odds, Trump bounced back to be
one of the most successful real estate investor and business magnate in recent
history.
Steve Jobs died a
billionaire and his legendary ability to establish Pixar, a billion dollar
company after he was ousted from Apple when he was 30 years old is evidence
that bouncing back is a common attribute among great achievers. Wealthy and
successful people know that to remain relevant and to continue being what they
are, they need to bounce back from adversity. Therefore, do not be discouraged
and dismayed by the defeat you encounter, overcome it and the rest will be
history.
In conclusion, wealth
and success are not generated overnight. As highlighted in Article 2, understanding
what the wealthy and the highly successful people know that you don’t is
critical in equipping you with knowledge that will help you grow your wealth
and success. It is never too late to know.
